Is Pinterest Right for You or Your Business?

Visual storytelling and graphic design are the future of marketing. What does this mean for us?

Sharing photos and relevant links is engaging and fun, but Pinterest is not right for everyone.

  • When deciding whether or not to create a Pinterest account for your business, look at what the industry leaders are doing.  Follow their example. Use their work as inspiration.

  • Obviously, it is also important to think about whether or not your industry, services, or business practices lend themselves to visual content. In order for Pinterest to be worth your while, your pins have to be shareable.
  • Think about your audience. Who is on Pinterest? Moms, shopaholics, procrastinating college students. Does this sound like your target market?
  • Consider the Shopping Feature. The beauty of Pinterest for business is that it has a shopping feature that allows visitors to find gifts and other desired items.

A great example on Pinterest is Coldwell Bankers page.  Their boards are perfectly inline with their business and perfectly inline with what Pinterest users love most (images of their dream homes).
